The people behind the mission — compassionate, skilled, and dedicated.
Healing Waters Foundation was created from Tanya's lifelong passion for therapeutic water work and her commitment to reducing barriers to care. She believes water is one of the most powerful therapeutic environments available — supporting physical rehabilitation, nervous system regulation, emotional well-being, and meaningful human connection.
A major focus of her work is leading the development of a fully accessible aquatic therapy centre in the Calgary region — envisioned as a first-of-its-kind space in Western Canada.
Beyond direct programming, Tanya is committed to advancing education and professional training in aquatic therapy, supporting families navigating complex care journeys, and creating inclusive community spaces that celebrate ability and belonging.
Ashley provides adaptive Aquatic Therapy through Bear Foot Health, supporting individuals in improving mobility, reducing pain, building confidence, and reconnecting with their bodies in the supportive environment of warm water.
She is also the Co-Founder of Sagewood Wellness in Cochrane, Alberta, where she helps older adults continue living well at home through therapeutic recreation, aquatic exercise, gentle movement, nature-based programs, and caregiver support.
Ashley holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Therapeutic Recreation and has completed advanced training in trauma-informed practice, therapeutic horticulture, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Palliative Care through the Alberta Hospice and Palliative Care Association.
Throughout her training, Jessica gained hands-on experience across diverse clinical settings including acute care, orthopedic rehabilitation, seniors' health, and neurological rehabilitation including stroke and traumatic brain injury.
Jessica is deeply committed to optimizing function, promoting independence, and empowering individuals to return to activities most important to them. She values evidence-based practice, compassionate care, and building meaningful therapeutic relationships.
Outside of the rehab world, Jessica is an avid outdoors person enjoying much of her time in the mountains hiking, camping, and cross-country skiing.
